Events have been battered in every way possible over the last 12 months. The black hole left both in the national economy and bank balances of event organisers and production houses will take years to top back up. Our events calendar was reduced by 95% last year, and we imagine that this year may still be pretty bleak, with only small events taking place – or large events with fantastic insurance providers!
In February last year we were approached to join together to form a collective for taking events online. We spent months planning and our tech partners developed a unique platform which has exploded since.
We ran our first event in the summer to an audience of several thousand people, which was a medical conference broadcast from studios in London. We brought in remote presenters from around the world, added pre recorded lectures and ended each day with live music. Breakout rooms gave the true conference feel. Groups could split off and discuss their fields in more depth, away from the conference floor. Sponsors could display their products and interact with their customers.
This was the first of many events for this particular customer, and working with StreamRooms has opened doors into the world of bespoke development. They have taken their platform to high profile clients since, offering a service unmatched by anything else currently on the market.
With their roots in networking, and ours in live events, we have melded our skills to form a resilient combination.
Working with B.S.B. from the offset gave us insight into live event production. Their knowledge of sound, comms and video, along with the right equipment for the job, meant that they were the ideal people to help us bring events back to the masses in 2020.
